Today Robby and I went to Elkhorn. This was Robby’s first time to fish from a yak. He did very well, he only loss one of my lures and a new anchor. The water was perfect, about 230 cfs and the clearest I have seen it all year. The fish were scattered and they still have not schooled. Most of the fish were in current above the rapids. We caught several fish in the 15 inch range and Robby hooked one fish that was 17 to 18 inches, but after a long fight it pulled off. Our bigger fish were in eddies near fast water and if there was some weeds around that was better. We caught them on small crankbaits and mini flukes. The bite slowed way down after 6 pm. We finished the day with about 60 bass, all but one were smallmouth’s. I know we are suppose to get allot of rain tonight. I can only hope it doesn’t hurt the fishing. Till the next report hope to see you on the water.
