My nephew David and I had rough fishing Friday and Saturday. We decided to try some lake fishing at a private lake I can fish. Thing didn’t start well. The weeds were very bad and the fish weren’t hitting topwater. We were able to find some areas with rock and near deep water where there were few weeds. It was unbelievable the fish were schooling in those areas. I would have thought they would be in the weeds and they were very shallow. I don’t believe we caught a fish over 4 feet deep. When we found one of these areas we would catch 10 to 20 fish or more. They were nice size fish too. They were averaging 12 to 15 inches. They were hitting small crankbaits in light colors. At about 7:30 it got alittle cloudy and we started throwing buzzbaits. The action was slower but the fish were nice size. It turned into one of those great days of fishing. We ended the day with 112 bass boated and if David had done a better job of not letting the fish jump off we would have a even better day. (lol) The picture is of David with the big fish of the day 3 lbs 9 oz. Till the next report hope to see you on the water.
